Tribe of Liberty - Inspired by Jonah Goldberg

I'd like to take a moment to thank publicly Jonah Goldberg for allowing me to use the name he coined - Tribe of Liberty. I was so inspired after reading his article of the same title at NRO, located here:  http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/328731/tribe-liberty-jonah-goldberg

I just fell in love with this name!  I was at NRO super late Friday night and came across his article. By the time I got to the end, I thought, "Dang, that would make a cool domain name and blog or website but I bet it's taken."

So I googled it, fully expecting the domain name to be at least reserved if not a full blown hosted site or blog. But no, nothing came up. So I went to GoDaddy to see if it was available... and it was. Along with other versions such as .org and .net. So I bought them.

Then I trotted over here to Blogger and registered tribeofliberty.blogspot.com . Logged back into GoDaddy and pointed the domains to the blog. Next day I thought, "Hey what about Facebook and Twitter?"

So I registered both of those as well because they were available. Put up a number of blog posts and tweets in the past couple days.

But by Tuesday I wasn't feeling comfortable with using this name without his permission. So I found his email address and wrote to him, asking if he was OK with me using the name. He responded very quickly, saying yes I could use it and he thought it was a great idea. He asked for a hat tip, which I will gladly give from time to time.

So thank you Mr. Goldberg.
