..then takes 15 paragraphs to rant about how Romney cheated and lied to win the debate. He accuses Romney of looking at a note before the debate, which is against the rules.
After he's finished, he publishes an "update" at the bottom, in which he says basically Oops, it wasn't a note, it was a handkerchief.
And he just can't resist the ad hominem pot shot at Romney by saying,
"Honestly, I do not know a person that carries a cloth rag in their pocket when they have a runny nose — it is a little gross."
"Honestly, I do not know a person that carries a cloth rag in their pocket when they have a runny nose — it is a little gross."
Mr. Buck is a Democratic strategist. I am getting so skeptical anymore, I can't help but wonder if the whole piece was planned, including the "update." Would be a great strategy, don't you think? Publish some crap that will anger people against Romney, but put the retraction at the bottom, knowing full well that most readers won't get that far. Am I nuts?
Whether I'm nuts or not, if you know any English or Journalism students, send them to Mr. Buck's piece. It's still an excellent example of yellow journalism. I just cannot believe the crap that gets published these days, on sites that are supposed to be respected news outlets. It just gets worse and worse. Where are the editors? Where are the standards?
